2008: Welfare/Beginners Teach-In Weekend

What a successful weekend this turned out to be with a joint effort by SHCGB Committee & Welfare Team putting together a weekend of fun, learning & education for new club members interested in finding out more about the world of huskies, the club & racing!!

The Welfare Team put together a package of fun events including; Fun Dog Show, Welfare Dogs Parade & talks about each of the dogs looking for a home, discount micro chipping, welfare information stand & merchandise,
and night time entertainment in the form of a 'pub quiz' & a raffle where the top prize on offer was a Dog Scooter!!


The Club provided a trail for people to try out running their huskies, a talk about racing and the rules and in the evening provided a yummy barbecue, which went down a treat!!!

Happily, a number of the SHCGB welfare huskies that were in foster care attended the event and many were offered homes as a result, in addition, to raising all important funds for welfare!
